Safety
NC 1000 recognizes that safety is the primary prerequisite for conducting any shooting event. Matches are conducted in general accordance with IBS and Camp Butner safety protocols. Safety briefings are conducted prior to starting the initial match. The golden rule of match safety is never insert your bolt into your rifle’s action until the rifle is positioned on the bench pointed down range, and you are instructed to do so by the Chief Range Officer. The bolt should be out of the rifle both arriving at and leaving from the range. Eye and ear protection are required.
