Match Format
· Match registration is the day of the matches. Registration closes at 8:20 a.m. The first shot down range is scheduled for 9:00 a.m., conditions permitting. There will be a one-half hour break between completion of the first match shoot offs and commencement of the first relay of the next match. The second match’s shoot offs are expected to be completed by 3:30 p.m.
· Two IBS 1000 yard benchrest matches will be conducted in one day.
· For each match, one gun (light) or both (light and heavy) guns are brought to the firing line when the shooter’s relay is called. The shooter will first fire heavy gun per IBS format. After the heavy gun record round is completed, each shooter on that relay will dismantle his/her heavy gun equipment and set up his/her light gun equipment for the subsequent light gun relay fired per IBS format. Refer to the link contained within the “IBS Information” tab on this website’s “Home” page for gun definitions and courses of fire.
· Shooters will be given nine minutes to set up their heavy guns, and six minutes to set up their light guns. Shooters wishing only to compete in light gun can set up their equipment during heavy gun setup, if desired.
· Sighters will be shot at an IBS 1000 yard target located immediately to the left of the record target. Impacts on the sighter target will be marked with an orange sighter disk by pit workers.
· The record target will be suspended with 15 seconds left in the sighter period. It is the shooter’s responsibility to adjust the rifle and rests to accommodate shots at the record target, as the sighter target will remain suspended during the entire record round.
